Sunshine Dog

Lucca loves nothing better than to lie in the summer sunshine! His favorite spot this year, is in the strawberry patch by the garage. The dirt gets nice and hot, and whenever I call him inside, he sticks his face in the strawberries and hides. Funny puppy!

More Baseball!

All three kiddos participated in baseball this year and they all did SUCH a great job! Everyone walked away from the season with a medal or trophy! Gabe pitched and played third base. Asher played first base and pitcher. Rhy played everywhere! Both boys were also All-stars this year! Way to go kiddos!

Lucca's Sister

Lucca got to meet up with his sister, Coco, at the ballpark recently. She was quite energetic, which kinda freaked out Mr. Mook. But all in all, he did pretty well!

Baseball Girl

Rhy played baseball for the first time this summer. While I don't think she was crazy about it, she had a lot of fun, and even got a trophy for her efforts! So proud of my girl!
Her favorite part was batting and running the bases.

Vacation-Day 7

On our last full day up north, we went on a 20-mile bike ride up to Mission Point. We started by having lunch at Bowers Harbor, and then biked up from there. The hills were amazing! There was one that was so steep, I would swear it felt like you were flying when you came down it on your bike! When we got to Mission Point, we hiked out to see the lighthouse. An amazing fog rolled in while we were wading around in the shallows just off the point. Nate caught an incredible black and white photo of the lighthouse through the fog ... one of my favorite shots from the whole trip! Afterwards, we enjoyed our last evening of campfire fun. We had smores and pudge pies with blueberry AND hershey chocolate filling! YUUUUMM! The mosquitos were bad, but it didn't dampen our fun. It was a FANTASTIC trip and we didn't want to come home!

Vacation-Day 6

We didn't do too much on this day: Went into Traverse City, which after the little towns of Suttons Bay and Empire etc., seemed HUGE and overwhelming. We biked around the City for a bit and had lunch at an AMAZING Italian deli, Folgarellis. We went to Cherry Republic for cherry candy and cherry wine. After browsing around a bit, we headed back to camp.
Awwww, sibling love!
Rhylah plays in the cherry pits!
We started to do trip journals, coloring pictures and writing about our travels. The kids each did one. A good memento!

Vacation-Day 5

Day Five was my favorite day by far! We went on a canoe/raft trip down the Platte River near our campground. What a relaxing day! The river is only about two feet deep, so we felt very safe. The boys got to try paddling and everyone took turns relaxing on the rafts that dragged behind!
My baby, reading Hemmingway and drinkin' coffee by the fire!
Sweet girl in jammies!
