Strawberry Picking Time!

JUNE 8, 2014: Sydney was with us this year when it was time to pick strawberries. Gabriel was still in Italy, so he missed out. We had lovely weather for it, and the strawberries were HUGE this year!

Last Day of School

Here are the kiddos on their LAST day of school: June 4, 2014.

Little Swimmers

MAY, 2014: We drove down to St. Louis at the end of May to deliver Gabriel to his grandparents. They are about to set off for Italy for two weeks. We are all really jealous, but we hope he has an AMAZING time!! The kids spend the entire day that we were there, swimming in Grandma and Papa's pool. Sooooo fun!

Zoo Trip

MAY, 2014: Asher and Rhylah's classes took a combined field trip to the Potawatami Zoo in South Bend at the end of the month. We had a fantastic time!

My favorite animal....the river otter.

Mom kangaroo with a baby in her pouch!

Monster moths! They were HUGE!

Here, you can see how big they were.

Butterflies in the butterfly house.

on the zoo train

Lions for Asher! (His favorite animal)

Spider Monkeys

MAY, 2014: Nate put climbing hand-holds on our tree, so now the kids can scurry up and down the trunk like spider monkeys. Rhy is only allowed to do it while supervised. Kinda fun. :)

Roxy

MAY, 2014: We lost Roxy on May 4. She was 9 years old. It was quite sudden, and very hard to deal with. One moment she was eating dinner and was fine, the next she was paralyzed with bloat. Nate rushed her to the emergency vet hospital in Indiana, but there was nothing they could do to help her. So we had to say good-bye to our Roxy Burger.... that lovable "velcro" dog who would stick to you like glue, lick your elbows and do a tap dance of joy every time Nathan (her one true love) came home from work. She will be missed.

Roxy: A picture I drew of my sweet dog, the day after.

By Gabriel: I love how he added her getting into the garbage ... one of her favorite old habits, which she (luckily) outgrew.

By Asher....he took it pretty hard.
