Fourth of July

Fourth of July was AWESOME this year! We perfected the clam bake! Nate built a huge mosquito net tent over our food so we didn't have to deal with the flies this year! AWESOME!! Aunt Kathy came over, and Papa Bruce was here, as well as Papa and Grandma Staude, who spent the whole summer with us, in their house, up on Wilson Ct. Dad brought an Orzo salad, and we had chips and soda and beer. The fireworks ALMOST got rained out when a HUGE thunderstorm started building up (you can see the lightning in the clouds, in the photos!) We almost left, because it was getting scary out, but then they started the fireworks a few minutes early and we were able to see them. We also were able to walk all the way home before a TERRIBLE thunderstorm broke out! WOW!! Good timing! We had buttermilk pie and a crowd-pleasing coconut cream pie for dessert, after fireworks!
