Perfect Fall Day
We went to Three Oaks this weekend and did a 14-mile bike ride with the kiddos. It was about 58 degrees and sunny and the leaves were just on FIRE! It was SO gorgeous! I keep thinking that there MUST be seasons in heaven, because I can't imagine being there without Fall! I can see our Creator's hand in every leaf and tree. Asher got an early birthday present ... a new bianchi bike. He was SO stoked! He kept saying over and over, on the ride, "I LOVE my bike...I LOVE my bike!" while Rhylah (who also rode her new bike...a Trek, she got for her birthday) could be heard muttering (up a tough hill) "I KNOW I'm gonna die today!" but afterwards, she said she had "lots of fun!" It was a beautiful day. Afterwards, we got pizza at a mom & pop place next to Froelichs in Three Oaks. It was delicious! Then we grabbed pumpkins at Dinges Farm on our way home.

Fall Hike ... October
I had some time on my hands yesterday, so I put the dogs in the car and went out to Grand Mere, for a hike. The dunes are gorgeous this time of year, with all the yellow and red leaves around them. I had SUCH a great time, being out and about, and having some time to myself in my favorite season of the year!

Good Teachers are Everywhere
Coming from a Lutheran school, we were a bit nervous entering the public system. But this was Rhylah's reading sheet from this week. And here's the lovely little note her teacher wrote on the day that Rhylah read from Genesis. "Great Book!" ... GREAT teacher!!
Rhy's Party
We threw a tea party for Rhylah's birthday. She had seven friends show up, and they had a blast! Everyone dressed fancy, and we had cucmber and whipped berry cream cheese sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, Amish bread with icing and fruit, fruit Kabobs, and cupcakes baked in teacups. And tea of course! Sydney came all the way from Wisconsin to spend the weekend with us and go to the party.
Playing a game to see how high they can stack sugar cubes. |
Asher generously volunteers to be the dress dummy for the tinfoil dress contest. |
Rhy's 8th Year Portrait
After school on her birthday, we drove Rhy over to daddy's studio to get her picture taken. My favorite one is the twirling one with the dirty feet. SO awesome!!
