Roses in November ... Nov. 7

Today, we did a lot of yard work. Trimming trees, raking up leaves, cleaning out the gutters ... basically prepping the house for whenever it decides to snow .. which, let's face it, could be ANY time. It's Michigan, after all. (We had our first snow day last year on Nov. 15.) In the back of my garden, along the fence, I was stunned to see two pink roses blooming. I'm not sure if it was because we had temps in the 70s last week, and it got fooled into blooming, or what. But I'm not about to complain. And the scent!! OHHHHHH my heavens! It smells sooooo heavenly! Summer and spring roses never smell that way, at least not to me. What a delightful treat!
